Government General Degree College, Mangalkote is located in the Mangalkote Block near the scenic Khudrunlake and the famousPanchanantalashrine. Mangalkote is rich in cultural and historical heritage. It is claimed this area is named after the prestigious temple dedicated to the deity Ma MangalChandi. The area is also notable for being the site where several ancient idols of thegod Vishnu were excavated, along with certain archaeological marvels – reflecting its deep-rooted historical significance. Additionally, the Jogadya Shakti Peeth, an ancient Shakti Peeth temple, adds to the area’s religious prominence. Mangalkote is also the home of the renowned Bengali poet KumudRanjanMallick, whose ancestral home stands as a testament to the region’s literary legacy.
