Rules and Regulations

Code of Conduct:

● Observe college discipline and public order.
● Attend the classes on time and ask for early leave only when you must.
● It is mandatory for the students to carry their ID cards with themselves during college hours and when in college premises.
● Students must attend lectures/seminars/webinars/ awareness camps/functions and programmes organized by the college for overall personality development.
● Minimum 80% attendance in regular theory and practical classes is compulsory for grant of term.
● Use of mobile cell during class and examination hours is strictly prohibited.
● Home assignments, tests and tutorials are compulsory,
● Students are expected to actively participate in extra-curricular activities organized by the college.
● Students in their own interest must go through notices and circulars displayed in the college notice board or shared with them in the academic WhatsApp groups. If they fail to do so the teachers or the Officer-in-Charge will not be responsible.
● Students must park their vehicles in the parking stand only with proper lock system, the college will not be responsible for any loss.
● Misbehaviour with fellow students or teachers on part of the students will be treated as a serious offence.
● Damage to the college property caused by students will have to be recovered from them.
● Undertaking should be given against ragging.

Library Rules and Regulations

Government General Degree College, Mangalkote started its journey in 2015 in an environment-friendly location which is surrounded by a big Dighi and green paddy field. It was an important step that the college library was set up in the same session in 2015-16 with 378 books. Gradually, the library has increased its need-based collections and now the library is fully functioning with 3076 books. The location of the library is very remarkable, entering through just the first gate of the college and turning to the left side of the entrance. It covers around 1200 sqft. The total library area is under CCTV coverage and totally Air conditioned.

College Library is the learning resource centre and knowledge hub of the college. It provides teaching learning materials to the students as well as teachers whatever available in the library. Students get their library membership ID card automatically after completing their registration from library. Providing right document to the right user at the right time is our main aim.

Library Hours

Monday to Friday- 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday- 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

● Library will be kept open on all working days, except Sundays and Public Holidays, from 10 am to 5 pm. Students can avail library facilities strictly during library hours.
● Silence shall be strictly observed in the library. Group discussions, conversations etc are prohibited in the library.
● Each student will be issued one borrower’s card at the beginning of each academic year, which entails to borrow 2 books at a time. At the end of the year the students will return their borrower’s card. These cards are not transferable. Loss of card shall be reported immediately to the Librarian.
● A book borrowed may be retained by a student for 21 days. The retention period may be renewed for one more week if there is no other application for the same book.
● Users have to mark their presence at the Library User Daily Attendance register.
● 2. Students, teachers as well as staffs should keep their bags outside before entering the library room.
● 3. No Bags/Umbrella/Folders/Newspapers/Personal or Issued books will be allowed inside the library.
● 4. Do not bring food and beverages inside the library.
● 5. Loud conversation is not allowed inside the library.
● 6. Keep your cell phone in silent or off mode inside the library.
● 7. It is advisable to use library resources i.e. Books, Journals & Magazines carefully.
● 8. Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library material in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he/she will be charged with the full replacement cost of damaged material and may lend to suspension of library account.
● 9. Books and other materials taken from the stacks should not be re- shelved by the reader. Please call the library staff to avoid misfiling. Remember that a book misplaced is a book lost.
● 10. Your cooperation with library staff is highly appreciated.

Circulation Rules

● Students can issue 2 Books for 21 Days.
● Faculty Members can issue 10 Books for 06 Months.
● Staff can issue 3 Books for 2 Months.
● Renewal can be done maximum twice.
● If the Members do not return the books after the due date, Library may block their card for next two months.
● Loss of book must be reported immediately. In case of a lost book the user has to replace the book (same edition or higher). Else they have to pay ten times of the actual cost of the book.

Examination Rules and Regulations

● No student will be allowed to bring his/her mobile phones to the examination hall.
● All students must carry with them their Identity Card during the examinations and produce the same for verification, if required.
● The students should ensure that they bring with them all the concerned material that is allowed by the concerned course instructor, which would be needed to take the examination.
● The students are expected to take their respective seats 5 minutes prior to the scheduled commencement of the examination.
● Students should ensure that they are not carrying on their person any material, other than that allowed by the course instructor for the particular examination, before they take their seats in the exam hall. Any such material found on their person during the examination would be construed as a deliberate attempt to use unfair means and would be dealt with accordingly.
● No student will be allowed to enter the examination hall 15 minutes after the commencement of the examination for in-semester examinations and 30 minutes after the commencement of the examination for end-semester examinations.
● Exchange (borrowing or lending) of any material during the examination is not allowed.
● No student will resort to any unfair means of any nature while taking their examinations. If any student were found to be involved in using unfair means during an examination, the said student would be immediately expelled from the exam hall for that examination and the matter would be reported to the Officer-in-Charge.
● In case a student is found to be copying from his/her fellow student, then both the parties, the one providing the assistance and the one seeking the same, would be punished for the same.
● In case a student has to leave his/her seat for whatever reason, he/she has to seek the permission of the concerned invigilator(s) of that exam hall before doing so. For visiting the restroom, he/she has to seek the permission of the concerned faculty invigilator of that examination hall before doing so.
● No supplement(s) would be given to the students in the last 5 minutes of the examination.
